A personal favourite from Burgaud's 2025s, the Côte du Py has a violet hue and intense strawberry fruit on the nose, accented with cherry blossom and flecks of iron - it is the essence of the site. The palate coats the mouth with redolent red fruits and flowers, their is such fine definition and purity to each flavour, with the tannins slick, fine and ripe. The acidity is there, this is not heavy in the slightest and it is light on its feet despite the intense, rich flavour. Lip-smacking, moreish fruit and hints of salted plum and iron filings line the very long finish. A superb wine, and quite ridiculous value for money. Drink it now, or over the coming 10+ years.
